product description The Petzl Ange S Carabiner is light-weight, compact and the perfect option for long, multi-pitch routes or mountaineering. Petzl took the steadfast and buttery operation of a traditional spring-gate carabiner and utilized a wire gate to help to keep the weight to a minimum. This carabiner features Petzl's MonoFil Keylock technology which gives you several benefits when compared to a traditional carabiner. It utilizes a single wire gate which cuts weight drastically and the head of the wire easily slides into and out of the gate via a keyhole. The straight and smooth gate of the Ange S eliminates snagging on the rope when going second or cleaning a route while the body of the carabiner utilizes H-frame construction which offers you the confidence and protection that you need due to its strength to weight ratio. The small and compact size makes this carabiner very effective at clipping into tight spaces for pitons or anchors already occupied by other lines or gear, which is invaluable when operating a hanging belay or near a port-a-ledge.
