We Love our State Parks!
Texans can count their blessings when it comes spending time outdoors. Our Texas State Parks can be found throughout the state offering us a host of opportunities for hiking and camping as well as birdwatching, kayaking, fishing, stargazing and much more. The parks also give us a much needed chance to reconnect with the natural world. The Texas State Parks also preserve historic sites that have played an important part in the making of the Lone Star State and where we can learn more about what it was like to live on the frontier. So if you want to get away, have fun, or learn something new, there's a Texas State Park for that!
Whole Earth Provision Co. is a longtime supporter of our Texas State Parks. Thirteen years ago when our Parks were facing budget cuts and even the threat of some Park closures, we created April is Texas State Parks Month. We combined the proceeds from our Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour shows in Austin with an in-store fund drive. In 2023, the combined total for April is Texas State Parks Month and the Banff Mountain Film Festival World tour was over $23,000 bringing the 12 year total of funds raised to over $294,100! These funds have been used to help with day-to-day Park operational expenses, including visitor programs and maintaining Park facilities. The 2023 donations will be used to print over a million trail maps for the Texas State Parks!
During the month of April, Whole Earth customers can make donations to Texas State Parks in our stores. Donations of any amount are welcome. For a $5 or more donation, customers receive a limited edition sticker pack. For a $20 donation, they will receive a $5 Texas State Parks gift card, good for fees or purchases at any Texas State Park, and the limited edition sticker pack. For a $50 donation, a Whole Earth exclusive Texas State Park snapback hat, a $5 Texas State Park gift card, and the limited edition sticker pack. Supplies for the exclusive Texas State Park snapback hat are limited, so don't wait! (Sorry, we cannot accept online donations for Texas State Parks at this time.)

Be sure to stop by your favorite Whole Earth store on Sunday, April 14th, from 2 to 4 pm for Meet the Rangers! Texas State Park Rangers will be in Whole Earth stores to answer your questions about where to go and what to do in the Parks. They have inside knowledge, and they're ready to share. Are you wondering if being a Park Ranger could be your dream job? Ask the Rangers! We hope you’ll bring your questions and join us for this fun event.
