Tax-Free Weekend in Texas!

When Tax-Free Weekend rolls around, you know that a new school year is coming up fast. This year, at Whole Earth Provision Co., you’ll find quality clothing, shoes and gear for back to school, plus some special events at our Austin and San Antonio stores.

The 2019 Back to School sales tax holiday begins Friday, August 9th and runs through Sunday, August 11th. During this weekend, clothing, shoes, lunch boxes, water bottles, backpacks and more (selling for less than $100) are tax-free in our stores and online. We’ll be offering some special pricing during the weekend to make even more items qualify for the event.

If you’re in Austin or San Antonio on Saturday, we hope you’ll stop by for some special events taking place in our stores.

Austin

In Austin, on Saturday, August 10th, when you buy a new Hydro Flask wide mouth water bottle, you can personalize it with a color-coordinated cap and strap of your choosing! Whole Earth and Hydro Flask will also donate $5 to the Friends of McKinney Falls State Park for each bottle sold. If you don’t need a new Hydro Flask water bottle, but you still want one of these new colorful wide mouth caps, donate $5 to the Friends of McKinney Falls and you too can create one for your Hydro Flask bottle.

The Friends of McKinney Falls is a new non-profit group supporting the state park with their time, talents and fundraising skills. Their mission is to serve as responsible stewards for the natural and cultural resources of McKinney Falls State Park, to support the park’s educational programs, and to foster an inclusive environment for today’s visitors and future generations.

San Antonio

If you’re in San Antonio on Saturday, August 10th, stop by our store at the Quarry Market and watch our own Whole Earth artist-in-residence, Ayla Erdener (@aylalah) as she decorates two Fjallraven daypacks from 11am to 4pm. The handpainted packs will be raffled by the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy for the benefit of Land Bridge Project. The Land Bridge will connect the two sides of the park over Wurzbach Parkway and will provide pedestrians, bicycles and wildlife a safe way to cross the highway. The Land Bridge will extend the natural beauty of the park so that people crossing it will have the experience of climbing over a hill and won’t see the traffic below.

We hope you’ll stop by one of our stores or shop online and take advantage of Tax Free Weekend to get ready for the new school year.
