Wow! If you've been in our stores in the past few weeks, you know how many gorgeous shirts, tanks and tops for women have arrived for summer. Our Women's Clothing buyer Molly has had a banner season choosing stylish designs in beautiful fabrics from some of your favorite brands. Prints range from lovely and sedate to bold and even brassy.  And the colors! Come see for yourself and get set for summer fun.

 

Classics from Carve

 

Carve hit a homerun with their Dylan Gauze Shirts. They come in button-front, sleeveless, and pullover styles. You're looking at the pullover which combines a V-neck and a three-button closure. The long sleeves can be rolled and secured with a roll up tab and there are two chest pockets. The cut is straight with a straight hem and side slits for added flow and comfort. What sets the Dylan Gauze Shirt apart from the competition? Beautiful lightweight organic cotton gauze fabric in both solids and patterns. Here's a shirt you can wear as a coverup for poolside visits, for out and about, and even work.

 

Looking for a shirt that's a bit dressy but still comfortable? Carve Designs Women's Luca Linen Shirt is one of our favorites. Carve describes this as a camp shirt, and it would fit right in at a campfire. But we think it has possibilities beyond the call of the wild. The notched collar is old school and adds a touch of class.  Dress up a pair of shorts or pants with the Luca Linen for a pulled together look for summer.

 

 

Desert Pucker for Women at Last!

 

For years women have been purchasing Royal Robbins Desert Pucker shirts for the men in their lives. And for many years women have wondered, "Where is our Desert Pucker shirt?" At last, we have been heard! Royal Robbins is now offering two versions of the Desert Pucker for women. The classic Royal Robbins Women's Desert Pucker Short Sleeve Shirt comes in colors including Quartz, Sage and a beautiful deep blue, Future Dusk. The Camino Desert Pucker is available in a bold two-color daisy pattern. We can now personally experience why this shirt has been so popular with men for so many years.

 

 

Our Favorite Linen Blouses from FLAX

 

Here's another blouse that adds a stylish touch to your summer wardrobe. Something New from Vuori

 

Another tee we are excited to bring to you this summer is the Vuori Women’s Pose Fitted Tee. In some ways it’s a throwback to knit tees of years past but with a modern touch. This tee is made of a delicate rib knit woven in a soft Modal fabric. It has a cropped length, four-way stretch, UPF30+ rating, and can wick moisture! Fun Shirts for Camp

 

The camp shirt is for those of us who sometimes want to take it up a notch from a t-shirt when gathering around a campfire or taking side trips to our favorite local eateries nearby. What is a camp shirt? Fundamentally, it's a cotton short sleeve button front shirt that's comfortable and breezy. What we're on the lookout for is fun fabrics. KAVU has been knocking it out of the park in this department for the past few years. This season is no exception. The KAVU Women's Girl Party Short Sleeve Shirt has several designs to choose from including Camp Vibes, Coconutty, and Crabs n Cocktails.

 

Another favorite source of camp shirts is Toad & Co. Their Women's Camp Cove Short Sleeve Shirts have some wonderful floral patterns and their own homage to camping. It's a good year for florals large and small across almost all our women's tops. You'll also find camp shirts in beautiful solid colors.

 

 

Elevated Tanks

 

Almost everyone has a tank top or two in their closet. They're cool on hot summer days and layer beautifully. This year we've noticed a trend in tank tops. Many are arriving in lovely fabrics with buttons! Patagonia takes the prize for the most inventive tank top.  The Patagonia Women's Garden Island Top is made of a cool hemp and Tencel fabric. The innovation comes in as the top is reversible. The buttoned side has a v-neckline that can be reversed for a scoop neck in the front with the buttons in back. V-neck or scoop? One piece. Two looks. You choose!

 

Toad & Co also has two great button tank tops. The Women's Taj Hemp Button Back Tank II is cheerful, flowery and also made of a hemp Tencel fabric. The Manzana Button Front Tank (not yet online) is a throwback to the summer of love. Made of organic cotton with a crepe texture, it has a back yoke with gathers for extra movement and smocking details. It's a look that never grows old.     

 

 

A Plaid Shirt for Summer!

 

The weather may have warmed but some of us still like wearing long sleeve plaid shirts, even in summer! Patagonia makes a great warm weather long sleeve shirt in a subtle summery plaid that's just what we were looking for. The Patagonia Women's Lightweight A/C Button-Down Shirt is made of a blend of cotton and hemp fabric.  The shirt has a relaxed fit and cuffs that are easily rolled. The back yoke has gathers to add extra freedom of movement.  The A/C Button-Down Shirt also comes in useful solid colors if plaid just isn't your thing! The Lightweight A/C Shirt is also available in a short sleeve version.

 

 

Love at First Sight

 

Have you had a favorite blue and white pin strip shirt that you liberated from a significant other? After many years of being wrapped in its comfort, did your elbows sprout through the sleeves and the hem began to fray?  Well ladies, Dovetail has created a shirt just for us. If you love wearing a blue jean jacket but it's just too hot for summer, consider the Tommy Bahama Women's Two Palms Linen Raw-Edge Jacket. It's styled like a traditional blue jean jacket with touches that set it apart. The jacket is made of cool linen and has princess seaming for added shaping. There are also side seam and chest pockets. The raw edge seams add a touch of softness to the jean jacket look. Try it with dresses, shorts or pants for a casual yet pulled together look.
