Meet the Rangers

Posted by Whole Earth | 04.02.2018

Are you ready to take a break from yardwork or that project for school? What about planning a getaway to a Texas State Park? Think of the fun you’ll have camping under the stars, kayaking on a paddling trail, adding new birds to your life list, or drowsing on a sunny beach.  If you need help choosing a destination, ask an expert! On Sunday, April 15th from 2 to 4 pm at our Whole Earth Provision Co. stores, you can meet a Texas State Park Ranger and get advice about where to go and what to do in our State Parks.

This is the seventh year that the Rangers have visited our stores during April is Texas State Park Month. Many of the Rangers arrive with special ‘show and tell’ items from their Parks. Rumor has it that one Ranger will be bringing his beautiful Speckled King Snake! The Rangers are ready to share their knowledge, stories and suggestions for special outings in the Parks. Or perhaps you’ve been considering a career as a Park Ranger. Here’s your opportunity to ask questions and learn what you need to do to make your dream come true.

And if you can’t make it to one of our stores to meet the Rangers, check out our Facebook page on Sunday afternoon for a Facebook live event from Meet the Rangers in Dallas.

And while you’re visiting the store, be sure to pick up your free copy of the State Park Guide. In this 112 page booklet, you’ll find descriptions of all the Parks, their facilities, recreational opportunities and more. It’s a great resource for planning a State Park adventure.

April is Texas State Park Month at Whole Earth raises funds to help support our Parks through customer donations which are combined with the proceeds from the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour presentations in Austin at the Paramount Theatre. The six year total of funds raised is just short of $179,000! The money has been used to help with day-to-day operational expenses and visitor programs at the Parks. For a $20 or more donation, you’ll receive a $5 State Parks gift card, good for entrance fees or purchases in Park stores. For a $50 or more donation, you’ll receive a Whole Earth branded Nalgene bottle and a $5 Texas State Parks gift card. Donations are gratefully accepted in any amount.

We hope you’ll join us for one of our favorite in-store events - Meet the Rangers!
