Nomadix Texas Map Original Towel
Your Texan can declare their loyalty with this Nomadix Texas Map Original Towel or the ever-popular Texas State Flag Towel. Sustainability has been built into Nomadix towels from the start. Each towel is made of a fabric that uses polyester thread made from certified post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, approximately 30 bottles per towel. Rather than dying threads and then weaving the designs, they've chosen to print them instead, reducing the amount of wastewater used in the process. Nomadix also participates in 1% for the Planet, where they donate 1% of their sales — not just profits — to environmental causes.

Foraging Texas by Stacy M. Coplin
Have a native plant lover on your holiday gift list? Or have you found yourself wondering "Can I eat that?" while studying plants on the trail in Texas? If so, Foraging Texas - Finding, Identifying, and Preparing Edible Wild Foods in Texas by Eric M. Knight and Stacy M. Coplin probably has the answer. Each plant listed in the book includes a photograph and is accompanied by a detailed description for identification, habitat and range maps, related species, and warnings and comments. Please pay particular attention to the warnings and notes on how to use the book safely.
Ideally, we would learn to forage in the field from a practitioner with many years of experience, but that is rarely the case. So be sure to temper your enthusiasm to try something new with a thorough grounding in the book's Foraging Basics and practicing careful identification. The plants included in the book are generally common to at least one region of Texas; are plants the authors have personally consumed; are not threatened, endangered or otherwise at risk; and are safe to consume if proper precautions are taken. Get to know another side of plants you may see every day with Foraging Texas.
One Hundred 80 Degrees State of Texas Dish
Remember when we said that you can find all sorts of things in the shape of Texas? Here's one of our favorites: the One Hundred 80 Degrees State of Texas Dish. We like this dish for cornbread but it's a useful size for all sorts of casseroles and sides. It can be used as a serving dish or put it on display!
One Hundred 80 Degrees Texas Dish Towel
If you like the State of Texas Dish, you'll be pleased to know that there is a matching Texas Dish Towel. The same artist, Faye Passow, has added even more iconic Texas items to the towel. It makes a fun hostess gift, can be used to wrap smaller gift items, and when put to use at home, greatly reduce the use of paper towels, one small victory for the planet! Plus, dish towels lend a touch of color and flair in the kitchen. So add a Texas Dish Towel to your collection or share the love with another Texan.
