This year the Get Out More Tour makes two stops at Whole Earth Provision Company. Learn new skills and get inspired to “Get Out More!”

Join us in Dallas on Thursday, November 4th from 7-8p at our Mockingbird location or in Austin on Saturday, November 6th from 2-3p at our N.Lamar location with special guest, Cricket Trailer.

Cricket Trailer will join the Get Out More Tour this Saturday at our North Lamar location.   Owner Garrett Finney will be onsite for the afternoon giving tours and answering questions about this unique camping trailer inspired by his former career as a space architect at NASA.

Once seen, the Cricket is instantly recognizable.  Some even call it the trailer built by Dr. Seuss.  Mike Richard of the website Vagabondish described it as “the freakish love child of a classic Airstream RV and a VW Vanagon … if that love child got into a few minor car accidents. It’s somehow ‘beautifully ugly’.”

The Cricket is a light weight travel trailer made for comfortable camping rather than being a house on wheels.  The interior space is comparable to that of a minivan but that’s where the similarities of these two vehicles end.  With the roof extended, there is over six feet of headroom in the work area of the trailer spacious enough for a game of cards or serving up a quick breakfast.  A day of family fun can start with a restful sleep inside comfortably accommodating two adults and two children.  Weighing in at 1,300 pounds the Cricket moves easily by the smallest of towable vehicles.   Modular options that include a refrigerator, a two burner stove, sink, hand shower, and A/C or furnace depending on your preference make this built to order trailer a personalized experience.
