Successful Coat Drive Concludes!

Winter came early to Texas this year. Many of our less fortunate citizens will be enjoying a warm coat because lots of people donated their extra outerwear to them. “Thank you!” to all those who dropped off your used clothing at a nearby Whole Earth store. We are delivering all these garments to great organizations around the state that will match each piece with someone who can benefit from your kindness. The philanthropic groups who are doing the distribution are these: in San Antonio, it’s SAM’s Ministries; in Dallas, it’s The Life Foundation; in Houston, Star of Hope is serving again this year; and in Austin, the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless is bestowing the outerwear upon new owners. Our thanks is extended to all four of them as well.

Whole Earth’s sincere hope is that small collaborative efforts like this one will ripple out through these communities and beyond to improve lives and, ultimately, our world.

Friends of Pease Park Accepts Donation

Shown above is Richard Craig (right) accepting a donation check in the amount of $871.00 on behalf of the Friends of Pease Park. It is presented by Joe Ray Jones (left) representing Whole Earth.

Pease Park, located along Shoal Creek in central Austin, is benefitting from the Trees for Pease fund drive to reinvigorate the much loved, much utilized park with the planting of hundreds of new trees to help restore this green oasis to its former glory. For some weeks Whole Earth stores in Austin have been receiving donations from the many folks who care about Pease. We wish a hearty “Thank you” to everyone who has pitched in! You may continue to aid the park by sending your check made payable to the ‘Friends of Pease Park’ and mailed to Austin Parks Foundation, 816 Congress Avenue, Suite 1680, Austin, Texas 78701.
